Hi guys,
First of all, I'd like to thank all the amazing folks on this forum. I don't think my two months of prep would go as smoothly as it did without all the encouraging stories and valuable tips shared by you guys.
So here is the story, a pretty simple one actually. I've been using Veritas as my primary studying material for the past two months and I think the materials are great. I've done 3 Veritas practice tests in the last two weeks and scored, 680, 650 and 690, respectively. My Quant score has always been decent, ranging from 49-51 from the practice tests. However, I never broke 34 on verbal. Like many suggested, I kept an
error log and noted in detail of why I got each question wrong, especially for SC. However, I felt like this didn't really improve my Verbal score by any significant measure. Although English is my second language, I never felt like it gave me any noticeable disadvantage during the exam. I understood the RC, CR passages and the SC questions just fine. I'm convinced that the issue is me not mastering all necessary skills to have a good verbal score, and yet I don't know what else to master besides the ones covered in the prep materials. I mean, I know I have to watch out for subject-verb agreement, pronoun and common idiom errors and I specifically look for those during the exam. Still, each time I got a question wrong I felt like it was for a reason/a knowledge point that has not been covered in my
error log. I know this is not true as I did thousands of questions already. I know I'm missing something here, but what am I missing?
I'm taking the actual GMAT in 3 days. I'm pretty bombed about my Verbal score. Has anyone had the same feeling before? Any tips on last-minute push on the verbal score?
