I just took the official mock 1 after the 8th week of the study plan. I scored a 770(Q50,V45). If about a 1/3 of the questions were repeated, how inflated could this score be?

Its huge becase

1) the time factor - seeing a repeat question, you save a lot of time

2) it reduces stress

IMO if i were you, I get the other 4 exams and take it

I actually have all the tests 1-6 but retook mock 1 cuz Ninja said to retake it. But yeah mock 2 will definitely be a better diagnostic instrument as all questions will be new.

But I do feel more confident though. I’ve been scoring Q47-50 in gmatclub tests and have been meeting the target verbal accuracies for verbal and LSAT tests.

If what you are saying is true, you can for sure hit over your target

mysterymanrog, is right - you get a decent degree of inflation - you save a ton of time (unless you solve through them) but again, you would know the answer. It is fine to retake by the way - you still get good experience and perhaps a bit less traumatic one since you know some of the questions but the scores are not reliable. Sometimes even a handful of questions can inflate your score.

Interesting enough, GMAC published results of a study a long time ago (need to dig on their site to see if I can dig it out claiming that knowing an answer to 1-2 questions did not inflate/change one’s score due to adaptive nature of the test). Not sure how accurate that was but they said 1-2, and not 3 or more. They were addressing cheating concerns and things like that.
