The whole sentence sounded kinda weird to me...but I see the elimination would have helped here.

There is no apparent contradiction between two clauses.

While C maintains the original sentence's meaning and fixes the pronoun error, I feel that D can easily be an answer too.

The first thing to decide in this case is, whether we need the contrast at all! I don’t think so. Is the second part contrasting the first one by saying 'but the cost does not include this and that". Both arms are entirely different and therefore the use of -but - is inappropriate and we need to use -and - in the given context

Between C and D, D is the clear winner because of logical predication

C is the most logical one. A and B incorrectly use 'their'.

why not D
where is the "contrast"?
OA - The word anyone is a singular antecedent requiring singular pronouns, his or her specifically, in order to maintain rules of agreement. The sentence also includes an implied contrast between the cultural events in El Paso and potential unpaid-for events across the border. This contrast requires the conjunction but.

Dear administrator(s),

"There is no contrast between the 2 parts of the sentence". That is what I thought when I was answering this Q during my GMAT CAT 2. Later I found that this Q has been questioned by a number of people here for its validity. Won't it be legitimate to just remove this Q from the database, at least form the pool of CAT. It is not at all encouraging to find a 'not good' question during CAT.

Reviewing my CAT 2, so far, I have found at least 3 these kind of Qs having 'very bad' reputation on the forum and even warned by experts to keep a safe distance with.

I request to take some action.

Binit.

there is a subtle difference between everyone and anyone, but I do not think gmat will test this issue, dont you agree?
