looking at last year's forum dings start flowing out at 17:00 GMT followed by interview invites much later and in some cases after 20:00 GMT so don't loose hope if you don't see a mail at 17:00 it could be better news!!

Didn't they move to a new application system this year? Wouldn't that change the dynamics?

On the LBS site they say the youngest candidates are 23 with 2 years work experience, I guess I slightly beat that as I will be 24 with 2 years of official work experience. But I have been in and out of the family office since the age of 16, so hopefully that counts towards something.

I must say I got a bit nervous when I saw the excel overview on this thread with the years of work experience. I am 25 and have 4 years of work experience but it seems most people have around 6 or 7 or more!

And most have GMATs above 730.... I feel like the 700 mark no longer separates you from the rest... crazy! maybe everyone is just getting too smart for the GMAT.

Very excited about tomorrow, I wish everyone all the best!!

I am so very curious about the number of applicants in R1. I'm certain that it was lower than expected since they enabled the application so late, but I wonder if the adcoms have a rough percentage of students that they are committed to admit for R1 irrespective of the number of applicants.

Translation: are our odds better than what they could have been?

The late start to the app system definitely would have made it hard for some applicants. I am sure that their numbers will be down compared to the first round in previous years (unless that is the normal timing in round 1). I can certainly imagine the situation where someone was able to complete their part of the application, but for their recommenders to miss the deadline.

Conspiracy theory! Maybe the adcom was just testing to see who could get their stuff together in a shortened window and it gives them an edge.

From the London Business School website
Quote:
The application stage in which your application will be considered is determined by when your application is complete (including supporting documentation, except references), not by when the application form is initially submitted.

There must be a grace period for references as they are excluded from the submission date deadline. Also the most time consuming part of the application process were the essays, and that was available well in advance of the application form. But anything to improve our chances of getting in is most welcome.
