PuneetA26 You have good credentials, so don’t fret because the rest of the application, if done right, will carry the weight of this verbal percentile. And while ISB does not openly say it considers sectional scores, I can tell you how admissions officers of global MBA programs look at verbal scores. They see them as a sign of your comfort level the language and whether you will be an active participant in class discussions. If you want to balance your verbal percentile, try to make your communication skills and outwardness a strong theme in the rest of your application.
I noted that you come from a research role, so I should advise you to tread with caution because backend research profiles are, again, not the most favored at top B-school programs due to the preconceived notion that these candidates have had limited exposure to the client environment and limited overall leadership opportunities in projects. So really focus on selecting the right talking material because the GMAT can only take you so far in a competitive process.

Hi all,
I have a 675 in GMAT FE (~730 in GMAT OG) currently, however my Verbal score is really low, V79 (51 percentile). My concern is that I have heard that there are "hidden" sectional cut-offs for ISB. Your advise on whether this is true & I should re-attempt would be really helpful. Also, it would be really helpful to know if I should re-attempt to increase my overall score in general?
(A glance of my profile: 10th- 95%, 12th-93%, Majors in Civil Engineering from BITS Pilani with a Minors in Finance; 3 yrs experience with Bain & Co. (Capability Network) in Private Equity & Organizational Restructuring teams).
I still have time before 2025 R1s- So I'll be able to prep for 15-30 days & reattempt!, so no constraints on that side as of now.
Thanks in advance!
