Option A is not parallel:

Although the Broadway musical known as "Hair"  contained  nudity, strong language, and  portrayed  anti-war messages, it opened in London only one day after the abolition of theater censorship in 1968

If there would have been an "and" in between, it could have made sense. As we always have "and" before the last item in the list.

Hair  contained  Strong Language

When a play or movie "opens," that just means it began showing. So we say "The new Star Wars movie opens next year December" or "The play opened to great reviews." (The latter means that when the play began showing, it immediately received great reviews.)

‘Portrayed anti-war messages’ is redundant and breaks the parallelism to the other listed qualities, so A is out. B seems to be correct, so lets keep that for now. C uses both although and yet, which makes it awkward. D has the same error as C and A. E uses the word stil, which changes the meaning of the sentence. B is the right answer.

In using the transitional conjunction 'although', it is not clear what the intended contrast is between the play's nudity etc, etc and its opening only one day after the abolition of theatre censorship? The text may be at best said to contain related things but not contrasting things.

There is some point if the text said that "although the play contained many controversial themes such as nudity and the like, it was well received by the community at large in general and by oldsters above 70 in particular with awe.

I suppose this is what a contrast is meant to convey- a positive factor in one arm, and a negative on the other arm, and vice-versa.

Portrayed is breaking the parallelism. So options A,D are out.
C and E are using yet/still with although which is redundancy. So left with only option B.

This is a tricky one.

The position of "in 1968" can help us eliminate A,C,D because we are not sure whether "musical opened in 1968" or "abolition of theater censorship happened 1968". If the second meaning, the musical could open in 1969.

As for E, "still" is redundant
