There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
The first reader may not have even started reviewing your app yet. They are surely flooded with apps right now and I can ensure you that most of the earlier apps who were admitted waited 2-3 weeks from 'under review' to 'interview invite.' This timing is likely further delayed now with the deadline passing a few weeks ago.
I wouldn't sweat it...even if all goes well you still might be a month out from a decision

Oh I really hope that's the case. I was under the impression that "under review" meant that the first reader was now reviewing your app...
Submitted: 10/5 Under Review: 10/7 Invited to Interview: 10/10 Interview: 10/12 Complete: 10/19
No call or email yet. Fingers crossed!
Damn dude, ridiculous GMAT scores. I hope they're not reserving the last Entrepreneur spot for you! Seems like nobody who applied at the deadline for jterm has heard yet, I'm betting that they're waiting to get enough interview results back before deciding and making the calls. Here's to some phone calls going out today. In the tradition of those past, CCCCAAALLLLLLLLLLL MEEEEEEEE!!!

Call it a hunch, but I'll say that there are two spots left and we'll get to share start-up stories in just a few months! Best of luck man..
9/15 .submitted 9/16 .printed and under review 9/22 .invite to interview 10/3 .interview 10/7 .complete Now waiting for THE call.....
I was at an information session at CBS last week and someone was admitted right there during the presentation. Has this been happening a lot? I wonder if the person knew before hand... but she did look very surprised. Maybe I should go to ALL CBS event... haaa.

Wow...that's amazing! So the adcom just called her name and told her she's admitted in front the whole crowd?
There was a post on here earlier from someone who was asked to go to an info session after having completed an interview (but not given acceptance yet). Is it possible they are inviting people to attend and then admitting on the spot?

I would think so. Why would CBS invite someone to their events while they plan to give them a ding? So good sign for those who are invited!
Hopefully not asking a question previously asked in the last 85 pages of this forum!
I plan to apply to Columbia by the January deadline (did not ED). Are they employing some kind of rolling admissions process where if I submit my app tomorrow, they'll interview me before the deadline? Or is the system similar to (HBS, others) where they only review apps and offer interviews post-Jan deadline?

Yea exactly. Adcom called her to the front of the room and said: you're accepted. I should clarify that this was a spotlight on health care presentation and not an info session- i miswrote. From her reaction it didn't seem like she had been invited to it but I don't know. What a way to find out... After seeing that I feel pretty nervous about my chances since I have been complete for weeks now and I RSVP'ed to the event.

Did you apply with a concentration in healthcare? I assume maybe they admit her because she indicated that she wanted to specialize in healthcare industry in her application? Well, i guess there are people who waited weeks and weeks for the call and eventually got in. Good luck to you!

CBS does not have deadlines except for ED and general in April. All applicants are reviewed on a rolling basis meaning the earlier you submit the earlier you are reviewed and potentially admitted. Since you are not submitting for ED (deadline passed) you application will not be reviewed until December after ED is done. With that said it is evident that they queue up the review based on submission so submitting now as opposed to December still has its advantages.
For those who's gotten interview invite already, what's the subject of the invitation email? Will I be able to tell it's an invite right away?

The first sign is an email from CBS stating that your application status has changed. You will be asked to sign in, and your application status will say that you'll be receiving instructions in 24 hours. Within those 24 hours, you get a second email explaining the interview process...
