All - you submitted an app, good job. seriously, you're gonna have to forget about stanford and be pleasantly surprised if you get an invite over the next month or two. look back at the past few years, the invites trickle in at random intervals - and you're dealing with the lowest acceptance rate to begin with
Yea, decisions aren't released until Feb 6th. I'd imagine s/he got an invite, because that would be unfortunate to have someone lie about that stuff, and probably just typed in the wrong thing for their school status.
a beatthegmat commenter said her bcg coworkers got invites. this makes me think that maybe they group by industry..read the mbb guys together and the pe guys together and the tech guys together etc etc, so apps are more comparable? i hope that's the case because i submitted mine on the 5th and didnt get invite yet.
edit- i bet the poster here who reported an invite just made a mistake in their school profile.
doverbeach: My cousin did his undergrad and MBA at Stanford and when i spoke to him yesterday he told me that the admissions office group applications based by industry so they can easily compare each pool. So yes, you are correct!

They may group applications by industry, but does that mean that invitations are all lumped together? I'd actually imagine that if they group by industry, then invitations for a particular industry will trickle out through the whole cycle (i.e. the consultant readers will read only consultant apps from mid-jan until mid-march). We'll never know, especially since our sample size right now is just a couple of BCG kids who got an invite. Consultants probably comprise a large % of applicants in the first place, so it could just be that, by chance, we're seeing invitations for those people first.
I know they group my industry, but that does not mean they send out invitations by industry. It's probably not a good idea to second guess how the entire admissions process works. We all just need to be patient and wait for our turn!

yeah grouping can mean one reader or a bunch of readers in a short time period.
i guess "we'll never know" is the truism here.
the opaqueness of stanford's interview process is a *complain*.
So just to confirm , there is 1 confirmed interview invite in GMAT Club and a Beat The GMAT blog claims that a couple (2?) BCG people she knows got invites? Hopefully there are more invites to come.
