Dont worry SR85.. i am sure that the adcom feels the same. I wonder if the invites are going to be released in some order.

I guess, you will be partying this time next week (we are exactly 1 week away from 19th Dec).

Just a general question, but part 1 of the app for round 2 is due on Wed. Does the interview just have to be checked on the application, or does the interview have to be complete by that time?

The interview cannot possibly be completed before you submit part 1 (you have to request for an interview). As a R2 applicant myself, my understanding is that once you have submitted Part 1, you can be called for an interview by kellogg.

Your interview can be conducted any time between submission of part1 and the final interview deadline.

Best of luck.

No calls reported so far... the generally accepted date on this board is that they'll start calling on Dec 14th. Someone reported that they called the Admissions office and were told Dec 14th.

This must be why they are taking longer this year: They are going to let all of us in, now they are just deciding how much to give each of us.

mangoman, phone interviews with kellogg adcom are typically 30 mins long. they are usually conducted for shortlisted guys from the pool which receives an interview waiver.

what % of this interview pool gets accepted is something that continues to intrigue me. anyone has any thoughts? rgupta83? cheetarah?- what's your take on it.

My assumption is as follows - The ones who get interviewed after a waiver are in the position that most individuals are after getting an invite from other schools. They probably have a 50% or so chance of admission since their interview invitation would be based on the read of the application.

Since Kellogg does interview everyone, I would say the interview has less impact at Kellogg then other schools, but still an impact. Being waived, is not a disadvantage as it truly lets you gage your position with Kellogg. Having the interview waived then being invited lets you know you are actually in the running and not some Joe Schmo who is not a good fit or qualified.

Just my 2 cents

BTW good luck to everyone this week and through next Monday. A week from today we will all know our place with Kellogg. Hopefully we all meet at Evanstan in the upcoming months...

Hmm, I'd have to disagree with you. From everything I've heard, the interview is VERY important at Kellogg. That's why they interview everyone. If the interview had less impact then they would just do invite-only like most other schools. Kellogg is really big on fit and they use the interview to assess that (among other things). I doubt that the interview has to be AMAZING in order to get in. But a bad interview will probably keep you out. As long as it's pretty good, I think you're fine on that metric.

I will agree that if you got an interview after a waiver that's a really good sign.

Called Adcom this morning to see if I could get any more info- they said the usual-- decisions will be out by the 19th... but they themselves added that decisions will start to come out 'shortly'. I didn't have the guts to ask them for a time frame.... but i'd take that as fairly convincing evidence that they'll start sometime this week.

good luck folks!
