Just received my admissions package in the mail, and I was awarded the Faculty Scholarship, which covers full tuition!!

Even if I am admitted off of the Wharton waitlist, I don't think there's any way I could turn down this offer. Thoughts??

Looks like you are going into finance -- you'd be close by to the wall street areas for interviews, nyu has a very good rep in that field, and to top it off, you get your tuition cover! Furthermore, hanging out on the waitlist is always a gamble -- there probably aren't many admitted students turning down Wharton.

I'd say confirm it for Stern -- huge congrats!

WOW!!! Congrats, that is awesome. I think you're right; even if you get in off the Wharton list, you would avoid $120k+ in debt by going to Stern. Definitely jealous

Interview invites are by email. That manila envelope is likely a generic brochure they send out. It has no bearing on getting an interview invite or not.

I'm in the same position and very much worried. If you look at the list of Stern applicants on the first page of this forum you will notice that not a lot of R2 applicants seem to have received an answer. However, I believe most people don't update their status if they are denied or if they get into a better school.

I hope we get an answer soon!

Hi guys,

I think Stern always takes it's time to respond to applicants. Having said that, I got a ding very quickly but they usually space it out till the initial decision date for the round so I would say don't worry too much.

Ya, Stern is arguably my #1 choice so I definitely understand the anxiety (and share it to a certain extent). But the mitigating factor is that it seems like they've sent out very few R2 invites (I've only seen 2 invites in this thread from people who applied in January). If this thread starts getting filled up with pages of 'Just got my interview invite!' and my inbox is empty, that's when I'm going to start getting upset.

Congrats on the interview! And wow - I had no idea they already were selecting people for Summer Start.

I posted my interview notes on page 20 of this thread but here they are again. There are interview notes from others on the preceding pages as well.

Just had my interview today! I'm a R2 applicant, and got my app in early January. Here's what I remember being asked in terms of some of the questions:

1) What are some of your strengths, and how are they applicable for your intended career?
2) What will you highlight to convince your intended companies to hire you?
3) Why do you think Stern is a good fit for you?
4) I noticed XYZ about your professional background. Could you tell me what you like about that experience?
5) Why do you want to make your career transition?
6) Do you see yourself getting involved in Stern clubs in a leadership role? Which ones?
7) When you're not leading a group, what role do you play in the group?
8) If you had to study one international market for marketing, what would it be?
9) What other companies are you interested in working in besides the ones mentioned in your application?
10) Do you have any questions for me?

Also just wanted to note that I thought the admissions staff was extremely friendly and that my interviewer had done her homework on my application. They mine your essays for inspiration and questions during the interview!

Hi folks - Longtime follower of GMAT Club, but this is my first post. Just got admitted to Stern today. Woohoo! After 2 dings (HBS, Stanford) and 2 waitlists post-interview (Columbia, Haas), this came as a huge relief. I interviewed on 1/28, and after most admits saying they heard good news within 1-2 weeks, I was pretty glum after all this time. But 3.5 weeks later I got the email. Strong chance I'll matriculate barring unforeseen developments at either Haas or Columbia. Looking forward to it!
