For those who've had their interviews, is it really only half an hour like the site says? It seems so short for an interview, especially given all the questions everyone has listed in their posts. Can anyone share how long their interview was??

My interview was about 35-40 minutes. I know it doesn't sound like a lot of time but you really can cover a lot in that timespan.

From this forum about 1 person got their response after interview in 3 business days, which is a crazy turnaround time. I haven't heard back and haven't heard of anyone else from R2 who's been interviewed & heard back yet

The interview is only 30-40 minutes but if you practice your answers before hand you can maximize your time. I had a couple of mock and real interviews before my NYU one so my timing wasn't an issue. Make sure you prep and you will be fine.

I think my interview was barely 30 mins, probs more like 25. Since they've read your complete app, there's no need to really go through your goals and why MBA and your work experience like in other interviews. My interview was more follow up questions based on what was in my app and discussion of what types of activities I wanted to do at Stern.

I agree. Though my stern interview was shorter than some others, it was much more personalized and the adcom had closely read my application (in a really good way!). It felt very relevant and tailored.

I had mine at Perspectives Weekend -- lasted 30 minutes on the dot. I had a little more than 5 minutes (I think) for Q&A.

Hard to tell you that, but I would say that chances are starting to decrease. I think they sent invites to several people (even internationals). I was not invited yet either.
I'm in NYC because of another interview. I had the chance to talk to some current students and they usually admit 4 people from my country. They've invited 4 people last round and admitted 2 of them. This round, they've already invited other 4 and have already interviewed (and admitted) one of them. I visited the campus today and there was a lot of internationals interviewing. Admissions do a good job trying to do a good mix of internationals, so I would speculate that they will admit 4 people from my country again.

I would advice you to do the same as me: try not to think much about that, knowing that the chances are low now.
This is just my speculation, but I'm trying to show you some facts and some conclusions I'm having based on such facts.

Don't worry about it. NYU runs a much later timeline than other schools. Their April 1 date is a notification date, not a result date like at other schools. That means that you can be dinged, WL-ed without interview, or invited to interview at any time through April 1. If you get invited to interview close to April 1, you'll be able to interview during the month of April.

Hey hern007,

When did you hear from the AdCom regarding round 2? The admissions reps I spoke to said all decisions would be released on April 1, but I have been hearing that some people were accepted already and invited to interview. Not sure how it works.

Thanks for the reassurance haha. Was starting to get a little worried myself.
