I am done with my GMAT exam for the time being and got a descent (supposedly) 710. The breakup was 49 Quant and 37 Verbal. Thought of sharing my experience with you all.
I started my GMAT preparation approximately three months back in July and that was the time when I joined this forum
. I had a few resources at my disposal such as
1. MGMAT 8 books
2. OG12 and Verbal and Quant 2nd edition
3. Kaplan 800
4. Aristotle SC and RC
5. Power score CR
After exhausting almost all the preparation materials I gave the sample test. My GMAT Prep scores were
1. 690 (50, 33) on 15th Oct 2012
2. 710 (50, 35) on 23rd Oct 2012
On the day of the exam I got an AWA, which talked about ice-cream parlour in a cold region. I suppose it is on the pdf list already available on this forum. I never checked it though. It went pretty well. The IR section was tough as in the time was too less to attempt all the 12 questions. Most probably I sucked on that one. I took my break of full 8 minutes
Quant was way too easy, I mean easier than the GMAT prep. I realized midway, after getting successive easy questions that I may have committed mistakes. I finished the quant section 5 minutes before the end time. I took my break of full 8 minutes again.
Verbal was tough. I got easy RC but very tough CR and SC. In CR the questions were mostly from argument evaluation and assumption. I got so nervous by the end that I started expecting somewhere around 650 as my first GMAT score but all’s well that ends well. I am not too happy with my score and would like reappear for the exam.
Should I reappear or concentrate on my application?
Got any suggestions?

Great score! Congratulations!
710 is nice score, if you are planning to get into US schools for Fall 2013 intake, I would suggest go for admissions. All the best!
