On booth site decision date is 19th, Why are we assuming its over on 18th
Decision day (D-Day!) has only two outcomes, historically: WL or Ding. That is why everybody prays for a call before the decision day, today/morrow 12/19/3012.

If so, I will be devastated by that. finger cross for a historical outlier today

Ditto - I am a HUGE fan of booth and their open curriculum, but it's possible that, for me, it just wasn't meant to be. In my mind, i'm thinking that booth's huge leaps forward over the last few years have made an extremely competitive program even more so.

I guess now I should get back to the grindstone and start putting the finishing touches on some R2 aps. While booth was my top choice, I can now look at some more regional schools in my home area whose location would be extremely convenient for recruiting :)

Prepare for the worst, but it doesn't hurt to expect the best :-) There is nothing sacred about dates. This year was also the first that they broke out interview invites across multiple days, counter to original plan, and previous years.

Another thing that stands out to me is that only 13% (50/385) of Round 1 applicants on this site have reported an admit so far. Last year, 31% (72/231) of Round 1 applicants on this site reported an admit. I understand not all admits who use this site have recorded their admits yet and that some people will be waitlisted before they're later admitted, but still--13% is substantially lower than 31%.

Congrats to everyone who heard good news today, and good luck to everyone else tomorrow.

Hi guys! congrats to those who got in, and best wishes to those who are still waiting.

I got an acceptance call from Booth as well - and from Harvard - so I wanted to ask the experienced people here, how does one negotiate for scholarships? At what point do you get informed about them? I just got a congrats call from Booth - with no notification of scholarship. Do we get notified with admission calls or is there a later date for it? (By later, I mean, after submitting the initial deposit - which would mean that to negotiate with multiple schools, you will need to have submitted initial deposits at all of them)

Thank you for your help in advance :)

I know that it's been said before but can someone remind what time the status will be changed online? I have a feeling (a glimmer of hope really) that I would not be called based on my location (the Caribbean).

Can't speak for Harvard as I did not get in, but Booth will tell you on the phone if you get a scholarship. I am not an expert, but from what I have heard and read, schools do not look kindly on scholarship "negotiations." It's not like there are a paucity of good candidates to choose from, and if you tell them you'll only matriculate if you get more (some?) money then I would expect them to let you walk. There are tons of qualified candidates on the WL at both of your schools.

Basically it seems pretty obvious to me that you aren't really negotiating from a position of power so I am surprised that you would think to do this. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I've heard of schools matching offers from other schools (anecdotes from Ross and Duke last year). These applicants usually have financial aid packages at another top business school and try to leverage that. If you have no scholarship offer from HBS then you don't really have any bargaining power though.

Harvard scholarship money is completely need based from what I know. So it depends on how much money you make now.

For Booth, if you were not informed about scholarship on phone you probably aren't getting one. But Booth has a lot of fellowships, which I've heard they offer after round 2 interview invites go out.

But will you go to Booth over Harvard if they give you more money?

The forum by and large has been quiet. I keep refreshing my application status page but no updates there either.

Yep, same boat. I'm really glad I got the call early from McCombs because I would be freaking out now if I hadn't heard from and of my R1 schools. I expected the ding from Kellogg, but was hopeful for Booth. I really liked my application / interview, but it looks like it just wasn't meant to be.
