Does anyone know whether the Columbia admissions folks are in the office today? Do they get a veterans day holiday?

I think they are in the office today.

Veterans Day isn't listed on the university holiday calendar. And they are updating their twitter account.

Good luck to everyone! Fingers crossed!

Sorry to hear that. Where did you interview and what were your perceptions of the interview? Keep your head up--I've been in your shoes plenty of times over the past few years....

Hi guys,

I would appreciate some advice – specifically, whether I should call my interviewer to politely remind him to submit the interview report.

I have completed my interview on 5th Nov but my interviewer still haven’t submitted my interview report as of 11th Nov. In addition, I have sent an email reminder on 10th Nov but received no reply. I am wondering if it is appropriate for me to call him today to remind that the report is due soon.

Thanks for the advice!

Maybe wait until end of business Monday or Tuesday?? can't expect much given sending an email on Sunday ...

Thans for the advice. I talked to my interviewer and he told me he was in Europe travelling....I might as well be the last one in the ED to hear the outcome of the decision :(

Congrats on the acceptance. Is there any rhyme or reason to when a call comes in, i.e. Always between 3-5pm or something, or is it completely random? Trying to stay as patient as possible though.

Does anybody know why Columbia seems to make up their mind in 3-4 days for US applicants (post interview), but waits the full 2 weeks after interview feedback is submitted to ding them. Is there a re-review they do?

OK here's my analysis thus far.
>~1,040 acceptances given in class of 2105
>Assume 40% (~420) offers given in ED
>Assume 75% of offers are for Aug term, so we expect 315 offers to be given in ED Aug entry
>FB group has 100 members, assuming 70% accepted candidates joined group we have ~140 candidates who accepted thus far
>Factoring for Aug entry and yield, we assume ~150 ED Aug entry offers given
>This means there are about 150 more offers to be given before Nov 18th....!!

Keep your heads up.

I like the optimism, but you have to remember that the yield on ED would presumably be much higher, i.e. closer to 95-100%, since there are only a few schools that would change people's minds and have them give up $6K. So even assuming that 40% of the 500 or so August entries were ED (200), given the high yield, it's more likely that only 225-250 acceptances go out. While I'm sure there are people who eat the deposit to go to S/H/W, I don't think it's too many.

Not to be negative -- I'm still waiting on a final decision and really hope to be admitted myself. Just wanted to throw that out there for consideration - I don't know that I would assume there are over 100 acceptances still to be handed out. Regardless, it's not over until they definitely tell you know, and plenty of people have gotten a Yes on the last day of waiting for a decision.

Trying to be optimistic, but I haven't seen an USA applicant get accepted after 7+ day wait (post interview feedback) in a very long time.

We can only hope. How did you interview go?
Initially I thought mine went well but I started second guessing my performance this past weekend. As more days go by the more apprehensive I get. it helps to remind myself that this isn't the end all be all and to manage expectations/ emotions. Good luck nevertheless.

I know it's almost impossible to not stress too hard on this, but it's definitely not over until it you have the official yes or no. And as a successful reapplicant I can assure you there is always next year, at worst.

Thought it went really well, and at the end she was laughing at a vacation story I told, and told me to email her if I got in or not....but then she didn't answer my thank you note, and took two weeks to post feedback (although submitted it an hour after I emailed her). Agreed, afterwards I started to feel less confident about the interview. I get the vibe the interview doesn't count that much for Columbia though. I think my low-ish GPA and non-front office banking experience is what will get me dinged.

What did you do over the year to make your application stronger?
