I am sorry but gmat and stuff doesn't matter. Wharton rejects everyone with a gmat lower than 700 whereas duke actually reads yr app. So I don't pay much attention to stats . Yes if you are just interested in IB then wharton may be a better option but I went to both schools and I absolutely loved fuqua more than any other school. Ppl were friendly and the climate was awesome. Professors were engaging. Salary is the same for ib across all schools so it doesn't matter which school you get into as far as that is concerned. These two years are going to be the last 2 years of yr academic life and I value fit more than anything else so I would go to duke if I get in.to each his own but stats don't mean anything. If you are good enough to get into top schools whether it wharton or duke then you are good enough to perform well at yr workplace which will determine your future. 2 yrs into ur career no one will care about the school you attended sir. But best of luck with wharton. All I am saying is wharton doesn't have the same prestige it use to. International students don't understand that and more often blinded by brand name. Look at the community .even tuck is awesome as the alumni are so helpful. The same goes for duke. If I had to rank it would be hbs, stanford, booth, sloan, tuck, duke and then wharton.
No disrespect meant(despite what I am going to say), but you are deluded if you think Duke is better than Wharton. Sure, Fuqua is a great school, I would have loved to go there, but the niceness of the people there is due to the southern culture, nothing specific to Duke(Emory, KF, Darden are all like that). Sure, Wharton's apps dropped almost 20% over last 2 years, due to financial sector issues and change of dean, etc. But at the end of the day, Wharton is the mother of all MBA programs(literally) and has the largest alumni base possible. And 2-4 years from now, when you say I did my MBA from Wharton, and when you say I did my MBA from Fuqua, there is an instant difference you will observe in the facial expressions of people.
Again, I am not bashing Fuqua and Booth, but people going to these colleges are always overzealous in their attempts to prove that their school is the best, and I will not dignify that with an argument. But I resent your statement "wharton doesn't have the same prestige it use to.International students don't understand that and more often blinded by brand name." Are you serious? 2 years ago Columbia had issues, now Wharton has, someday Harvard/ Stanford will; you have serious issues if you calculate "prestige" by the last 2 years performance(not that it has been bad).
My day didnt start off so well(what with the Duke "not invited" and all), but this shiz is funny as hell- "hbs, stanford, booth, sloan, tuck, duke and then wharton". WOW. Just WOW.
