Usually if universities have a interview notification date it implies that you will hear back from the school with either an invite or a waitlist/declined by that date.

Duke did not offer any sort of decision, all they said was "Not invited to Interview" and this is not a final decision,

but based on previous posts, it does seem that it is a deny (this is how I am viewing my Fuqua App), but not a 100% deny

Mr sayak..have u visited duke? Have you lived in the states? In terms of prestige booth kicks whartons butt...from 60's till today booth has helped shape Americas foreign and economic policy. It is ranked much higher than wharton.again international students only know three schools harvard stanford and wharton but that's not the case..as I said I would go to duke if given a chance and if two yrs down the line I have to flaunt my college as a means to succeed then I would have failed!

I just received an email to schedule my interview! Scheduled for the 22nd!

PM me if anyone wants to meet up or wants to share a cab to/from the airport (will probably come evening of 21st and leave late afternoon/evening of 22nd).

best of luck to all of you as someone who interviewed during the open interview process its very chilled out and relaxed ...just hope you get the right student to interview you...and remember interviews are completely blind meaning they have access to your resume and thats it...nothing else...

I was initially going to do a weekday for a class visit as well, but it seems like Saturdays have more events - Informational Student Panel, Curriculum Panel, Career Management Center Information Session, and Fuqua Partners Session which were not available on weekdays.

So... I interviewed during the open interview period and really bombed. I'm still not sure what happened, exactly, but my interviewer and I were so completely opposite types of people, it was like having a conversation with a space alien. Which caused me to panic and get nervous and just not present myself very well. I think I have a strong app otherwise (one of my recommenders is a Duke alumn, and I have another letter of support from a Fuqua grad), but my low undergrad GPA was already a major obstacle to overcome.

Since I won't be getting any feedback with regards to an interview invite or ding, I thought I'd ask you guys whether you think I'm totally out of the running now, or if the interview doesn't matter as much as I think it does.

I understand your intention, but nothing anyone here says will mean anything because that's impossible to answer with any kind of authority. Only the adcoms know a) what weight the interview holds, b) what your interview debrief actually says and c) where your 'story' fits into the diversity of the class they're trying to construct. Nothing in the echo chamber of internet forums can shed any light on that, so I suppose: hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
