They just did a board yesterday, apparently we were just lucky enough to be in that one. I'm sure more will come in time!!

I thought Carlson didn't release decisions on a rolling basis!

From the previous years, it seems the later rounds are a little looser in the notification factor. I received an email at around 1pm CST, but was totally not expecting it.

Exactly - I had read this post too. And I couldn't fathom why there's a 10 place drop.
I'd still consider Carlson to be top-25, and US News' ranking for Carlson this year to be an aberration. I shouldn't call names but I find Carlson to be MUCH better than many of the schools mentioned from ~20 onwards. ;)

So I'm confused. Last Thursday I was told they sent out admissions packets on Wednesday. Today I received a sort of congratulatory greeting card from Carlson. It's written in a strange way, it at first seemed to be the admission letter from the way it was written, but then pressed me to make a final decision. Did I end up getting a reminder card before the actual packet?

You can PM previous rounds' admitted students to confirm... and if still in doubt, why not call the AdCom rep. directly?
I'm sure they wouldn't mind explaining :)

Hey guys, thanks for the great info on preparing my Carlson app.

Received an email yesterday saying I was lucky enough to be admitted. Follow up email on scholarships revealed that at this point in the cycle I shouldn't expect one. My question is whether something like say a half-tuition waiver counts as a scholarship or if I'm just out of the running for a 'named' scholarship? The AdCom member said all would be revealed in the packet sent later this week, but I am looking to schedule a visit soon so any early advice would be great.

Update: No $$$. Sounds like they're over budget in terms of funding now. AdCom says some might say no on April 1 and free up some money but looks like I won't be matriculating, it'd be like $120k in loans. Good luck to everyone else waiting for word!

Phone earlier today. Won't get packet for about a week. Loan numbers are from their site at full-price.

Congrats! I was admitted a little after you though (March 17) so maybe you got one of the last ones? Might be they 'misled' me to make it seem like they wanted me despite not funding me? Who knows, but they told me no funding left on March 19. Hopefully, they were confused or something as I'd love to get some $$$ and attend. Still haven't gotten the official packet yet.

Hopefully they were just trying to keep people from getting their hopes up but they still are able to provide you with something! They sent my packet out on 15 March and I just got it on 22 March here in Texas. In addition to that, when I called last week I was told another batch of packets was going out this Thursday, the 20th.
