4 lost minutes... Plus the distress caused when you realized that you had lost 4 minutes.. Enough to throw you off balance.. Could well be the difference between 46+ and 41.. I would say definitely retake...

For top 10, the average GMAT scores are hovering around 710-720 (Stanford is 730).
I would not say you are too low but a tad on the lower side.

My suggestion would be, if you can improve 40 points with relative ease, go for it. Otheriwse, if you are not very clear how to improve, perhaps look elsewhere to add value (essays, LOR's, etc).

I would also ask some of the admissions consultants in the Ask Admissions Consultants forum to get their input.

It looks like you scored towards the high end of your range. I don't see much value in you retaking the test.
