\(0.0625 = \frac{625}{10000} = \frac{25 * 25}{100 * 100} = \frac{1}{4*4} = \frac{1}{16}\)

Answer = C

One more method (rather interesting)

0.0625 is a perfect square of 0.25

Its simplification would also yield a perfect square

Only \(\frac{1}{16}\) fits in (Its perfect square of \(\frac{1}{4}\))

Answer = C

(A) 5/8
(B) 3/8
(C) 1/16
(D) 1/18

1/4 is 0.25
so 1/8 is 0.125
so 1/16 should be 0.0625 - Option C)

Could you please explain how to calculate 1/8 from 1/4 and similar comparisons?

Another way of doing this

625 is square of 25.. Hence 0.0625= (25*25)/(100*100)= 1/16..

I think kinjiGC gave the smartest solution here, which is why I gave him some kudos!

I did reach the same in 2 ways, by saying that 0.0625 = 625*10^-4, which obviously is 625/10000.

However, as I am not quick with numbers, didn't know that 10000/625 is 16... And, I didn't think of dividing by 625 anyway base on the answer options.

So, as the divisions were easy, I just started doing them from B on. I found it quite quickly, but hat's off to kinjiGC!!!

so 1/4= 25%
1/8= 1/2*25%= 12.5%
1/16= 1/4*25%= 6.25

Nice to know some basic % :)

\(0.0625 = \frac{625}{10000}\)

Or, \(\frac{625}{10000} = (\frac{5}{10})^4\)

Now, \((\frac{5}{10})^4 = (\frac{1}{2})^4=\frac{1}{16}\), Thus Answer must be (C)
