admitted today. 3 weeks after interview, what they said it would take, exactly.

still waiting for the email to find out about any scholarship.

Is 3 weeks the standard or max time it takes them to get back to you after the interviews? I'm on a deadline with another school, so I'm hoping to hear back even sooner. Planning to interview next week. Does anyone know if it would be off-putting to ask if adcoms can expedite a process based on another school's decision?

3 weeks is the max time from what my interviewer said. I'm not sure how they decide but it varies between 1-3 weeks. In my opinion, I wouldn't ask them to expedite it and also wouldn't mention another school's deadline but who knows..maybe other people have asked in the past and it was ok. I would just be afraid to jeopardize anything. Good luck and hope you hear back soon!

For those of you who have been invited to interview, congrats! I just did a little analysis and found that Stern has the highest acceptance rate for applicants who interview.

Good luck!!

Got an invite yesterday!
R3 int'l applicant, 710 GMAT, 27 yr. old, finance.

Will be having my interview on mid-Feb.

Are you interviewing on campus?

hira86
I got an invitation for an interview last Friday (30/1). I am interested in an off-site interview here in London. As an Indian citizen, I would need to arrange a US visit visa which is a huge hassle.
Stern says they strongly recommend students to come to NYU for interview.

Does anybody know if it hurts your chances if you do an off-site interview? Wondering if there are people reading this message who did an off-site interview and got selected?

Did you decide whether to fly to NYC or not? I'm flying from London this weekend to interview on campus next week.

I'm a round 2 applicant (submitted day of deadline) in the States and haven't heard any news yet either! Also, my status online still says that I'm "being presented" to adcoms. I'm assuming a reject at this point.

Does anyone know if Stern rejects candidates via email or post?

I think it's email/online, not post!

I looked at the top 20 programs in the article, link below. Data is pretty thin after that.

How'd you get this data? I've been searching recently and couldn't find much on interview acceptance rates (besides, ironically, Stern, which seems to trumpet the fact the interviews generally lead to acceptances).

I looked at GMAT Club data and took the number of admits as a percentage of number interviewed. The numbers lined up with the couple of numbers that are available publicly, like Stern and Wharton.

I applied R2 and heard back at the very end of last week, so I think they're still making their way through all the apps!

That's good to hear. When in the round did you apply? I applied on the last day.

Stern admissions publicly announces they admit 60-70% of their interviewees. I'm surprised your number is actually up at 75%. Are there people when filling out their GMAT club data that don't check interview received, just that they've been admitted?

Congratz gents.
I interviewed on the 1/21, and still haven't heard anything - wondering if that implies I am getting a ding.
