Bunuel, in the original sentence there are two things that made De Caprio famous - the film itself and the portrayal. In the answer C, only one of them is left. Doesn't it distort the original meaning? As I understand, when trying to uncover the meaning, one should always rely on the original sentence even though it might be grammatically incorrect. Then the correct answer choice should be expressing the same meaning.
