Just got back from the test center. Got a 750 which was completely in line with my GMAT Prep performance (740, 760, 740, 750). Everything went very well and there is no way I'm retaking. I think that like a lot of things the GMAT is really an experiment of one and that people should try to stick with what works for them rather than try to rely on some one-size fits all solution. That being said, I will highly recommend buying the GMAT Exam Pack. Getting those 4 tests under my belt were crucial to me. The actual test felt exactly like a practice exam to me (albeit with an incredibly nervy and overactive heart).

Wow nice work Zatopek! Do you plan on writing a debrief? Also what were your Q/V breakdown? Assuming you haven't completly erased all your GMAT knowledge, I'd love to pm you about some things if you don't mind.

Thanks. I might write a short little debrief if I have time this afternoon. I scored a 49 on Q and a 44 on verbal. 8 on IR. Feel free to PM me with any questions. Happy to help any way I can.

Honestly I thought sentence correction was on par with what I saw on the GMAT Prep exams and in the OG and Verbal review books. Bear in mind that I am a >4th generation American so this experience might be different for non-US natives.

I didn't take any Manhattan Prep test although I used the books. I only studied for about 5 weeks and wanted to focus as much time as possible as I could on getting an idea for what official test questions are like. I started a CAT for Manhattan but didn't finish it because the questions did not feel like "GMAT" questions (I understand this may have been the intent of MGMAT, regardless I didn't like that) for either Verbal or Quant. Quant problems were too involved and hard, verbal seemed too easy. I did learn quite a bit from their books though.

I just got back from my test center. Was going to cancel the test this morning because of a terribly intense headache that wouldn't go away since last night. Did not want to forfeit the $250 I paid (which is like 2 bottles of Chanel- yes I convert everything to shopping value after the Black Friday yesterday :D) so I went there regardless.

Blanket out in IR, made a few obvious mistakes in Quant (each of which I realized right after clicking 'confirm'), and had a tiny 5 minute panic attack during Verbal (when I realized I had 23 questions and 15 minutes left). But overall it went better than last time and I came out of the test with a 770 (50 Quant, 46 Verbal). This is a bit lower than but not much different from the results of my GMAT Prep Tests (770, 780, 780, 790), and I guess I can temporarily say goodbye to the GMAT now!

I ve found this forum extremely encouraging and helpful- good luck to all fellow GMAT takers/ business school applicants. Please keep us update on how you're doing/ how you have done. Happy Thanksgiving- I am thankful for you guys!
Of course, I am happy to share my humble experience/ do a debrief if you guys have any questions!

Congrats) Great score. And how were you able to finish 23 questions with 15 minutes? I would like to know more about your mock experiences and especially manhattan cats if it is possible.

Thank you! I freaked out when I looked at the clock, so I just decided to skim the questions super briefly and go with the first answers that popped up in my head WITHOUT second-guessing myself. That seemed to work- I finished my last Verbal question when there is 2 seconds left :D

At the beginning, I did one of the Princeton Review CAT and got a 740. Later, I finished 4 mock tests from the GMAT Prep (I purchased their additional 2 tests) with my scores being 770, 780, 780, 790 respectively.

I only did one Manhattan CAT where I scored a 750. I thought their tests were very different from the GMAT Prep CATS (their Quant is impossible and their Verbal is too easy). I was afraid that doing more MCATS will give me a false expectation of the actual GMAT and thus negatively affect my score, so I decided to stop doing the Manhattan CATs (and CATs by other test companies) altogether. I personally think the 4 GMAT Prep tests were enough to 1/ show me what to expect in the real test and 2/ train me to do it well.
