Hey guys, here is the timeline of 2014 and 2013 for your reference:

Monday Oct 20, 2014: first invites
Tue-Friday Oct 21-24, 2014: almost silence
Monday 27, 2014: large # of invites sent out
Tue-Friday Oct 28-31: some invites
Wed Nov 5,2014: another large #of invites sent out (most international applicants got invites in this batch)
Friday Nov 7, 2014: some invites and ding/waitlist notifications


Friday Oct 25,2013: first invites
Monday-Friday Oct 28- Nov 1 2013: large # of invites sent throughout the week
Monday-Thursday Nov 4-7 2013: complete silence
Friday Nov 8 2013: some invites
Friday Nov 15 2013: some invites and ding/waitlist notifications

There might be a huge batch of invites out tmr or on Tue.

I am not sure if this is the right place to do this...but here it goes.

Does anyone have any hotels they recommend near MIT's campus?

I have to go there for my interview. I was planning on staying with my friend who is a student there (and who I stayed with when I visited in the past) but my friend has some social events that night and a roommate and I was thinking it might be nice to have a quiet space to myself.

There are two Marriotts within walking distance to MIT - one in Kendal Sq and one on Memorial Drive. If those are booked or too pricey, I know there are some good AirBnB options around.

So I see that y'all have discussed that the minimal invites so far seemed to go to NYC/Boston applicants. Do you think that means any other NYC applicants our **** outta luck? Or it's still too early to tell?

Looking for some peace of mind here. Side note - this has been a suuuper fun process. :cry:

So maybe the admissions group is busy this week with the first wave of interviews? If they scheduled interviews until end of next week, could we expect the next wave of invites to go out on Friday of this week or Monday at latest? That would give 1 week notice to the next wave...
