I had my interview with Stern last week. The adcom implied that my video was watched that day prior to my arrival, and I found through my view analytics that I did indeed have 1 view from NY on that day. However, I did not have any views from NY prior to that one. This leads me to one of two conclusions:
1) My video was never viewed until long after I had already received an invitation to interview; it was only viewed the very day of my interview
2) NYU Stern viewed my video before I received an invitation to interview, and they have a way to spoofing Youtube's built in view analytics (e.g. if they viewed it, Youtube is unable to determine that the view came from NY, or that it was viewed at all)
Make what you will of this -- but the main takeaway here is that we probably shouldn't look too deeply into the online views here.
