I found out about a day before the (Sep 29 vs. deadline Sep 30) through email - no calls. I was traveling, so it was going to be hard to catch me on the phone, not sure if they took that into account. The previous intake seems to have been super competitive with impressive acceptance rates from what I've heard. I assume it's becoming challenging for the committee to make acceptance decisions, so it wouldn't surprise me if they take their time and send them out close to the deadline. Try not to stress too much over it. I know it's hard, but keep your expectations low and relax, you've done your part already.
