That is interesting, the the Trump-effect should only skew the application #, not the % receiving an interview invite though?

As for GMAT Club, might have been that number of users are increasing, but the users are less prone to report, and that the user-base has become less high quality, given the lower interview percentages?

It might; if fewer apps are sent, and fewer strong apps are sent, then eventually, fewer people will get the invites.

I think the same number of invites should still be sent, unless the Trump-effect also has an impact on class size?

I guess it's that time when all hope dwindles. I'm curious to pick the brains of some other applicants that have applied more than once. What do you guys think would be the best way to boost our stats? I'm a first time applicant but I'm determined to apply again and get into one of the top programs next year (HBS, GSB, MIT). I would love to get input on the following:

1. Currently my GMAT is 710. I am applying from South Africa, I figured being an underrepresented region this would be sufficient but perhaps I need a retake to aim for 750+?
2. I'm considering pursuing a masters in engineering while I work, aiming to finish by June 2019. This is probably going to kill my time next year but if it boosts my shot at an acceptance (especially if I can get a distinction pass), I'm willing to go for it. What's your thoughts?
3. I am currently 25, with 6 months formal work experience for large software company, and 2 years of startup experience. I am cofounder of a small but specialized software consulting company that focuses on data science and machine learning for Africa. We've done work for some really renowned international clients and I've spoken at a number of conferences, startup incubators and tech seminars around Africa. Would I be better off pushing our startup another year, or returning to corporate to have more formal management/consulting experience on my CV?

I appreciate your guys input :)

I for one will be glad to get a decision tomorrow. The 1 month drip by drip invitations have really sucked.

Well, end of the road fellas. After dings from HBS and Wharton, I do not have much hope for GSB. Good luck to everyone!

Didn’t you get an interview at Sloan?

Yes but interview at 1 out of 5 schools doesn't exactly put me in the pole position. If Sloan accepts me, it all worked out great, but there's about a 50% chance I won't make Sloan's cut, judging by the numbers. I would have felt much better with 2-3 interviews, of course!

Mind sharing your profile?
p.s: have you thought maybe to apply in R2 to other business schools?

Profile:
32 years old, American (White/Middle Eastern), 760 (47/47), 3.6 GPA from state school, Marine Captain (Logistics), work in compliance for JPM. 10+ years WE but mixed with deployments, etc.

Maybe I'm conceited but I thought a 760 GMAT Marine Captain working at JPM would be a shoe-in for some of these programs; at least for an interview. This experience has definitely been humbling.

I think I have no choice but to apply to more schools since Sloan's decision won't come out until just before R2 deadlines. The challenge is going to be going back to my current boss and my old battalion commander to ask for even more letters of recommendations after having asked for 5 so far! :) I guess I need to figure out Christmas gifts for them. ;)

Can’t you ask them to reuse most of what they already did

He can, but I guess the letters must be tailored to each individual school...

Woah! Impressive! Thank you for your service by the way! You should definitely try in R2, of course, if you are interested in schools other than top 5.
Damn, and I don't even have where to get at least 1 recommendation letter..ekh!
