Internet connection for online GMAT test

Question

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone is doing fine.

I came across one pointer in the "System Requirement" for online GMAT that we cannot use mobile hotspot to take online GMAT test.
Has anyone taken online GMAT with mobile hotspot or is it not possible to take test through mobile hotspot? Anyone with any relevant input on this would be of great help to everyone.

I tried a Systems test (using Pearson VUE software) with 4G mobile hotspot and it failed. It said that the speed wasn't consistent at 1mbps. It seems like this option is a no-go.

So did you receive any further email on this from GMAC?

Nope. I found that it's a pre-requisite for the software to get 1mbps upload and download speed. I checked on speedtest.net and it was not consistent. Hence don't have any other choice apart from trying to get a stable broadband connection at home.

Just read your posts, I am thinking of using jiofy dongle for my test, the System Test may or may not fail since even jios speed is unreliable. Let say if during the test, my net stops for a few seconds, will my test be cancelled?

Hi Guys, I have my GMAT Online exam scheduled next week. My apartment faces power cut 2-3 times a day and by the time generator starts it takes 1-2 min and in the interim wifi stops and reboots. Is there going to be an issue during the exam ? Did anyone face such similar issue ?
