Join NUS MiM Chat Group for Latest Updates
I applied to the NUS MSc in Management programme on the 31st of December last year. The R1 deadline was on 31 January and the school says that they reach out to selected candidates 3-4 weeks after the deadline date. Has anyone received any communication from NUS regarding an interview call back? I am low-key getting nervous that my application did not make it.

Update: I emailed them in the last days of February, they said that they have not started with sending email invites yet.

  • Round 2: Apr 15, 2021
  • Final Round: July 15, 2021

After talking to my Singapore contact again, Here are few points she told me about.

1- Most MIM/CEMS international students find it very hard to get a job in Singapore, as Visa policies are very strict. Most of the students go back to their home country because of poor job prospects.
Job offer for MBA students is relatively easier to get.

2- If someone with luck of gold manages to find a Job.
Companies in Singapore view this program equal to a bachelor degree, so MIM/CEMS graduate are most likely to be placed at entry level position.

3- Unlike its European peers, NUS does not have a Singapore company associated with CEMS, they have some kind of deal with Keio University, Japan and use their associated company for CEMS.

4- The level of exposure you expect from a international level program is not there, that is why NUS MIM is not ranked even in top 100. European schools are ranked very high.

5- As Singapore is a very expensive city to live, expect 2000 Singapore dollars as monthly expense.
So 45K(MIM) or 55K(CEMS) + 2K x 20 months + Other expenses.
= 85K(MIM) or 95K(CEMS) + Other expenses.
She suggested me to try for European CEMS schools as they offer better education, better placements and better exposure with significantly lesser cost.

6- Teaching quality is also not that great, most of the professors for MIM program are from the bachelors department.

Hello everyone, I applied for the CEMS program at National university of Singapore.
Here is my timeline for application

Application submitted - 27 Jan 2021

Invitation for interview - 10 Mar 2021

I emailed them to ask status of my application - 1st April 2021

Received my offer - 3 May 2021.

I have decided not to accept nus offer as i am not satisfied with the curriculum and overall quality and future prospects.

I have also received my offer today. But I will decline it as I have received offers from business schools in Europe which will arguably place better in Singapore than the MSc at NUS itself.

Also that the allocation of the Cems partner schools will be in August is a huge turn off for me.

You can mail the MSc office, they’re pretty responsive and would be able to tell you a solution for sure. Mostly you’ll have to fill another application.

Hey everyone,
I am an NUS CEMS alumni (class of 2019). Exchange schools - HEC Paris, Hong Kong University.

I was reading several negative reviews on this forum about the NUS CEMS program, so I thought I could share my experience and help you guys make a better choice.
Unfortunately, Most of the negative stuff written on this forum is true. NUS did not help anyone in securing internships, jobs, or any other assistance. If I had a time machine and I could change my university, I would 100% go to a European school. You may be wondering why I say this? First, the classroom experience in NUS was below average and underwhelming, Professors didn't care if you understand. Students received little to no help from academics and a majority of questions were never answered. Everyone was just trying to get through the initial months at NUS. Imagine paying thousands of dollars in tuition and receiving below-average education. No doubt I made good friends at NUS but that was not the reason I went there. I went to NUS for Education and making my future. I was inclined to apply for NUS MIM because they offered 2 CEMS exchanges and European offered 1, But what I didn't know European schools make students travel to different parts of Europe and have multiple projects in different places. You get a very collaborative learning environment at European schools. At NUS all you do is attend class, give presentations and give exams. There is little to no real-world experience. The situation changed dramatically when I went to my exchange school, My experience at HEC and Hong Kong Uni was more than impressive and the overall atmosphere was so supportive. I wish I had applied for a European MIM and not NUS. During my CEMS exchange and talking to other exchange students I realized how outdated my NUS Curriculum was. I managed to secure a position in a multinational company in France. I am thankful to professors at HEC who helped me every step of the way, unlike NUS where they just don't care.

You might have a different experience but this is what almost every one of us in the batch experienced, this is not just my unique experience but everyone had a similar fate.

Rating NUS MIM - 1/10
CEMS Value in Singapore - 3/10
CEMS Value in Europe - 9/10
HEC Paris - 10/10
Hong Kong University 8/10

Getting a Masters degree is an important investment you make to build your future and I am sorry to learn that you didn't get the education experience you were expecting at NUS.
