I got interview invite. I mailed and asked whether I need to submit official transcripts. AdCom said not needed now. However I am thinking I will submit anyway.

wow thanks for mentioning, I wonder if they are changing their policy. in the past they did not even consider your file complete and reviewable until official transcripts were received. maybe its covid related.

I mean, is it not the case with most schools that they only need unofficial transcripts at the time of application, and then official transcripts during the verification process once admitted? The anomaly here is Berkeley asking for official transcripts (the ones sent by the university) before acceptance or making acceptance conditional upon receipt of them.

Yeah, none of the schools (T15) I have applied to have asked for official transcripts, they do mention that it's only required if the candidate is admitted. It might just be a misunderstanding from the OP as schools do require the unofficial transcripts to have certain requirements (attested, instruction-language etc.) Posted from my mobile device

To those that have been invited for interview- firstly, congrats and good luck! : ) Secondly, what is the format? Is it video-based and/or you’re to book a slot with someone for a virtual interview?

It's both up until all the in person slots have been taken. Then it's only the video interview. Posted from my mobile device

I just want to take this opportunity to mention if you do the video option make sure to be in a secluded private area that is undisturbed. One of my clients did the video interview, and the mailman was banging on the door half the time. With face-to-face you can go and shut the door tell people to shut up or something but with this you can’t really leave where you are. Posted from my mobile device
