I really don't think so.
I received and I thought that was one of that regular marketing e-mail ( I still think that it is a regular marketing email). Just had a link to do a virtual tour and watch 4 recorded classes.

So nervous about the outcome ~

I read somewhere that the class visits are random, and don't have any bearing on outcomes at all. Which makes sense, given that even if one is invited to a class visit, there's not guarantee that their schedule lines up with the classes

From the Haas admit slack group:

Thank you for reaching out with this question. While this unexpected hurdle has caused complications for the campus - it will not result in any existing offers being rescinded. Rest assured you and all other admits on this thread have your seats secured. It is our undergraduate program that will bear the largest enrollment reduction.

No mention of what it means for R2 seats though, but I can't imagine them sacrificing a lot of seats from the full-time MBA program vs. the part time ones, but thats just my thought

Why this is happening....Is it going to affect the round 2 selection?

Yes it will likely affect round 2 selections but UCB has not stated how exactly, just that they need to cut 70 places from this year's planned enrolment across all graduate programs (not just full-time MBA).

For anyone else wondering the reasoning for this, here is some context from the NPO that litigated UCB: https://saveberkeleysneighborhoods.org/legal-info/

...enrollment growth had major impacts on housing and displacement of existing residents and that the huge increase in students had created unacceptable levels of noise in the surrounding neighborhoods.
...UC had failed to do a meaningful review of a reduced enrollment alternative as a way to reduce impacts on the community

For those of us who were planning to apply in round 3, do you think it’s worth the effort?

I applied for R3. They say that its the least competitive round of all the 3, but also there are very few spots. So its up to you
