Is the application fee waiver working for GMAT club spotlight event attendees. Did anyone try?

Hi All! I have registered for interview in Open Interview Period and have the interview on 26/09. And I’m planning to apply in Round 2. But I’m not ready rn for the interview I feel so am damn confused about proceeding with the interview or cancelling the same. So my question is does giving an interview in open interview period have any significant pro? Lets assume I give my interview right now and apply in R2 so when the admissions team considers giving an admission offer, is it like first they will evaluate my application and if they like the application they will then move on towards my interview experience or will interview experience take precedence and affect my application evaluation and admission chances? Can someone kindly help me with this pls?
