I got in with a scholarship — no GMAT/GRE, currently not working (yes, I mentioned this in my application to Kenan), and I never hired a consultant.
Last year, I applied in Round 3, hired a consultant, and spent a lot of time on these forums. One key takeaway from that experience was realizing how unhelpful and complicated the whole MBA admissions industry can make the process seem.
This year, I used free resources to build my resume, wrote my essays myself, had friends review them, and actively networked.
If you didn’t get in this time, I’m more than happy to help. It’s time to loosen the grip that consultants and forums have on anxious applicants. Feel free to reach out with any questions — I may also write a detailed post about how I got in.
