Hey folks,
Qq: As the deadline for decisions on the website is written as 15th November, do the results keep rolling out till that date or do they come out on the date itself?
Any knowledge on this date bit would be appreciated.
TiA!
decisions are announced on a rolling basis i.e. not all at once

Hi,
I am an Indian armed forces officer with 10 years of experience in operations, maintenance and strategy.
I have had international experience of one year with Indian embassy at maldives.

My academic background includes a Mtech (Aeronautical engg, 8.99/10 cgpa, topper of the class) and BE (Electronics Engg, 9.57 cgpa, univeristy gold medallist)

I have certain accolades and awards from commander in chief, high commission of india, maldives national defence force among many others.

GMAT : 675

I have done certifications like CSM, LSSGB and LSSBB

Request if somebody can review my profile and provide me professional help for application and essays (if my profile is strong enough for insead) as I want to apply for INSEAD in the upcoming deadline for 5 Nov.

Regards,

your profile is really great, I would suggest contacting someone of the same profile (bschool alum, ping me I can send you one name) Also I would recommend applicantlab, which is DIY, but it would be well within the budget compared to any other services

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I need some clarification on something, recently while reading the past chats I stumbled upon a link to topmate.io link, and again not singling out anyone, I found many profiles where ex INSEAD & other B school students have made their profiles and give advice in a one on one session for which they charge accordingly, I failed to understand even after passing out from these prestigious colleges, there are people working for as low as $50/ hr which I’m sure is way way low than what they are getting as salary at any reputed consulting firm or any other field. The point of me writing all this is, this had made me wonder am I right in my choice of pursuing an MBA, cause if this Is how it’s going to be after passing out where I’ve to sell myself on such websites than I’m better off with where I’m today. Please share your thoughts..

I don’t have a problem with earning something extra on the side. What’s annoying to me is the in your face marketing. It just becomes spamming after a point in time, and unfortunately doesn’t bode well for the institute of which they are an alum.

Hi Ashwer - your question is valid and I’m sure it’s what occurs to most prospective candidates when they come across Topmate profiles. While I can’t speak for everyone else, I’m pursuing this for a few reasons:

1) There’s a spectrum of affordability when it comes to B-school applicants, especially when they hail from low-income geographies. This limits accessibility to good mentorship options that often come with a price for the value they provide. Some of us alums are trying to bridge this gap by sharing our experiences for a lower price point.

2) Now you may be wondering why it’s not free if that’s the objective. I provided all my services free of charge at the beginning. This resulted in two issues: 1) high number of bookings / linkedin connects that became impossible to manage with my full-time jobs, and 2) a large number of no-shows that prevented those who actually needed help from booking a slot with me. As a result, I increased the price slightly until the demand became feasible to manage.

In summary, it is a side gig that most of us pursue for the fulfillment of being able to help others and not for the money. The price-points are more a logistical convenience to ensure mutual respect between myself and my clients. That being said, if some of you are interested to chat, but hesitant because of the price-point, please reach out and we can figure out a way to ensure you get the help you need.

Best regards

Planning to apply in R2, any Indians who wish to switch industries planning to do a 1 year MBA at INSEAD? My understanding is that for an industry switch (tech -> consulting) it’s better to stick to 2 year programs since we get an internship opportunity. Also, how are the job opportunities in UK/USA after an MBA from INSEAD?

1. You can apply for the January intake at INSEAD which has an internship.
2. If you do an MBA from INSEAD, you should forget about finding a job in the USA. Europe, UK, MENA, APAC are regions that will open up for you, but not the USA. Ideally, do an MBA in the region you wish to get a job in. If you want to live in the USA post-MBA, apply to MBA programs over there.

Hey @aarushii16 ! So, international students who don’t speak any other European language apart from English get placed in UK or in EU cities like Amsterdam, Berlin, Luxembourg. And there are ample of opportunities but with INSEAD, South East Asia and US also opens up. Entire world opens up. As per stats, change in industry is the second top reason to do an MBA, which does happen. Hope I have answered your question!

If you’d like, we are happy to hop on a call with you 1:1 to discuss your profile in detail and gauge your chances at INSEAD and other top B schools.

If you looking for an answer - general would be given score another shot. As an Indian background it is expected of us to score higher in GMAT.

But the realistic thing is - the score is worth a shot if your applications are good enough (essays)
