XLRI is also a great school to go for.

I think it would be absolutely wrong for me or anyone to answer this question without personalising it for candidate.

So answer for one person may not be a good fit for other.

I answer it this way
*If you and informed people around you with your best interest in their heart evaluate you as a capable candidate for ISB then it’s worth waiting for one year.* or even two

I have a few candidates who have XLRI admits and I have asked them all to wait. All those had
GMAT 635/645/685 and so. While one of them has already received admit from ISB (she was the only one who had despaired 8 lacs too) just days ago, I’ve suggested others to wait for next year as I don’t see any reason why they shouldn’t be accepted by ISB.

This suggestion has its risks but for me it’s easier to evaluate it from neutral perspective and I found it worth for them.

@ WA@otj2096 Some candidates are able to get direct feedback from the school from June onwards, but I do have reservations about the quality of that feedback. Based on my discussions during ding analysis, the feedback from ISB's very short feedback sessions as narrated feels quite generic and doesn’t (IMO) provide deep insight into the qualitative aspects of the application, for example, whether the essays were absolute trash or if the overall content was a complete mismatch with an otherwise genuinely strong work experience. There is rarely any focus on what the candidate could do in terms of professional decisions to improve candidacy. I would definitely encourage you to seek feedback from a wide range of perspectives, experienced alums, admissions experts, and recruiters from your target industry, in addition to just relying on input from the adcom reps.
