A water bottling machine is designed to fill two types of bottles—small and large—at the same time.

It fills small bottles at a constant rate of 3 per second and large bottles at a constant rate of 5 every 6 seconds.

In one minute of continuous operation at these rates, the machine fills small and large bottles that are packed into exactly 10 shipping crates, with each crate containing the same number of small bottles and the same number of large bottles.

Select for Small Bottles and Large Bottles the number of small and large bottles, respectively, in each shipping crate. Make only two selections, one in each column.

We have to find the number of bottles in a crate per minute.

To make things a little simpler we can use rates per 6 seconds so we have :
Small bottle: 3 * 6 = 18
Big bottle : 5


We need the number of bottles per crate so we can use method:- Total bottles per minute / Shipping crates


So now we find values for small bottles and big bottle:
Small bottle: \frac{(18 * 10)}{(10)}
Big bottle : \frac{(5 * 10)}{(10)}


Answers:
Small bottle - 18
Big bottle - 5

Small bottle - 3 per second, then in 60 seconds total = 180
Large bottle - 5 in 6 seconds, then in 60 seconds total = 50

Total bottles = 230 in 10 shipping crates, with each crate containing 23 bottles
to be divided into the same number in each crate. = 23 = 18 small + 5 large

Small bottles per minute = 3*60 = 180
Large bottles per minute = 60*5/6 = 50

Distributed in 10 cartons equally.

Small bottles per carton = 180/10 = 18
Large bottles per carton = 50/10 = 5

We’re told:
• Machine fills:
• 3 small bottles per second
• 5 large bottles every 6 seconds
• Machine runs for 1 minute = 60 seconds
• Total bottles are packed into 10 identical crates, each with the same number of small and large bottles

🔹 Step 1: Total number of bottles filled in 1 minute

Small bottles:

3 \text{ small/sec} \times 60 \text{ sec} = 180 \text{ small bottles}

Large bottles:

\frac{5 \text{ large}}{6 \text{ sec}} \times 60 \text{ sec} = \left( \frac{60}{6} \right) \times 5 = 10 \times 5 = 50 \text{ large bottles}

There are 10 crates, and all have the same number of each type of bottle.

\text{Small bottles per crate} = \frac{180}{10} = 18
\text{Large bottles per crate} = \frac{50}{10} = 5

In 60 seconds, number of small bottles filled = 180
Number of large bottles filled = (5/6)*60 = 50

There are 10 shipping crates and each crate has same number of small bottles and the same number of large bottles.
Thus number of small bottles in each crate is 180/10 = 18
Number of large bottles in each crate is 50/10 = 5.

Small Bottles
3/sec
60 sec * 3/sec= 180 bottles
180/10 =18 As the 180 bottles are evenly divided between 10 creates.

Large bottles
I cycle of 6 seconds for 5 bottles.
10 cycles in 1 minute
10*5 bottles= 50 bottles
50/10 =5 As the 5 bottles are evenly divided between 10 creates.

Given , per second = 3 small bottles filled,
for 6 seconds = 5 bottles are filled.

after 1 minute (60 seconds) , small bottles filled are = 60 *3 =180
large bottles filled are=10*5 =50 (since there will be 10*6 seconds in a minute).

also there are 10 crates and each crate contains same no. of small and large bottles ,

So large bottles in each crate will be =50/10=5.
so small bottles in each crate will be =180/10=18.

Small bottles per crate=18 and Large bottles per crate=5

Small bottles are filled up at the rate of 3 bottles per second. so in 60 second 180 small bottles will be filled up.
Large bottles are filled at the rate of 5 bottles every 6 second so in 60 second 50 large bottles will be filled up.
There are 10 craete so 180/10=18 small bottles will go in each crate and 50/10=5 large bottles will go in each crate.

Given Information:
The machine fills 3 small bottles in 1 second and 5 large bottles in 6 seconds.
After 1 min, 10 crates are filled identically.

Small Bottles:
3 bottles/1second
Multiply both the denominator and the numerator by 60 to convert time to 1 min.
180 bottles/1 min
Dividing these 180 bottles into 10 crates = 180/10=18 bottle/ crate

Large Bottles:
5 bottles/ 6 seconds
Multiply both the denominator and the numerator by 10 to convert time to 1 min.
50 bottles/ 1min
Dividing these 50 bottles into 10 crates = 50/10 = 5 bottle/crate

Answer: Small bottles= 18, Large bottles= 5

Rate of filling small bottle = 3 bottles/second
Rate of filling large bottle = \( \frac{5}{6} \)bottles/second

Total number of small bottles that can be filled in one minute = 3 * 60 = 180 small bottles
Total number of large bottles that can be filled in one minute = \( \frac{5}{6} \) * 60 = 50 large bottles

Now this need to be packed in 10 shipping crates such that each crate should contain equal number of bottles.

Therefore: each shipping crate will contain 18 small bottles and 5 large bottles.

Rate of Large Bottles in 6 seconds = 5 bottles;
Rate of Large Bottles in 1 Minute = 5 * 60/6 = 50 Bottles

Rate of Small Bottles in 1 second = 3 bottles
Rate of Small Bottles in 1 minute = 3 * 60 = 180 Bottles


If there are 10 crates with equal number of small and large bottles

10 crates have 180 small bottles & 50 Large Bottles

Therefore: 1 crate has 180/10 = 18 small bottles & 50/10 = 5 Large Bottles

In 60 seconds, the machine fills:
Small bottles: 3/second => 3*60 = 180 Small bottles
Large bottles: 5/6seconds => 60/6*5 = 50 Large Bottles

In those 60 seconds, 180 Small and 50 Large bottles are packed into 10 crates, and each crate has the same number of Small and Large bottles.
=> Each crate includes 18 Small (180/10) and 5 Large (50/10).

ANSWER: 18 Small Bottles and 5 Large Bottles

Rate of filling small bottles: 3 Bottles/second
Rate of filling large bottles: 5 Bottles/6 seconds or [5/6] Bottles/second
After one minute, which is equal to 60 seconds, the number of filled bottles is:

Small bottles: 3 * 60 = 180
Large bottles: 5/6 * 60 = 50
If these bottles are to be divided equally between 10 crates, there will be 18 small bottles and 5 large bottles in each crate.

This is very simple. In 1 second machine produces 3 small bottles and in 6 seconds the machine produces 5 large one. Since it can fill bottles in same time which means they ran for 1 minute and produced, 50 large bottles (5/6)*60 = 50, and 3 x 60 = 180 small bottles.

Now to pack them in 1 box, we can do it in 5 bottle large and 18 small bottle.

Small Bottle3 bottles/ sec60 sec3*60=180 bottles
Large Bottle 5 Bottles/6 Sec60 Sec(\frac{5}{6)}*60=50 bottles filled
Total : 180+50=230 bottles


If 10 crates are filled and each crate contains the same number of small bottles and the same number of large bottles.
So ratio of total small bottles and large bottles is 180:50. when packed in 10 crates, 18:5.

So each crate will have 18 small bottles and 5 large bottles.

In 60 seconds, the machine fills
→ 3 small bottles/sec × 60 = 180 small bottles
→ 5 large bottles every 6 sec = (5/6) per sec × 60 = 50 large bottles

These go into 10 crates, so :
→ 180 ÷ 10 = 18 small bottles per crate
→ 50 ÷ 10 = 5 large bottles per crate

Answer:
Small Bottles: 18
Large Bottles: 5

Small_rate = 3/1 bottles/second
Large_rate = 5/6 bottles/second

Lets convert to minutes
Small_rate = 3/1 bottles/second * 60/1 seconds/minute = 180 bottles in 1 min
Large_rate = 5/6 bottles/second * 60/1 seconds/minute = 50 bottles in 1 min

180/ 10 (for 10 crates) = 18 small bottles
50/ 10 (for 10 crates) = 5 large bottles

A water bottling machine is designed to fill two types of bottles—small and large—at the same time.

It fills small bottles at a constant rate of 3 per second and large bottles at a constant rate of 5 every 6 seconds.

In one minute of continuous operation at these rates, the machine fills small and large bottles that are packed into exactly 10 shipping crates, with each crate containing the same number of small bottles and the same number of large bottles.

Select for Small Bottles and Large Bottles the number of small and large bottles, respectively, in each shipping crate. Make only two selections, one in each column.
