Username1512 - your profile shows potential, given the undergrad pedigree (the GPA seems a bit low though - any reasons?), learning consulting experience (which is differentiated from the pool), big-4 brand, and extracurriculars.

Which companies have you worked in (other than big-4), and what was the rationale behind the job switches? Also, have there been any promotions/ progressions in your roles?

It'd be crucial to have a strong narrative covering your experiences, career goals (short-term/ long-term) and how/ why the MBA fits in at this juncture. These aspects, besides your profile and score, will also help prioritize the right mix of schools.

On the GMAT, while there's no magic score, aim for 10-20+ points above the school's average (this can also help compensate for the GPA) with a balanced sectional split. This usually translates to a 675-685+ for most schools.

Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out for a discussion.

Regards,
Arvind

Hi, can you please do a profile evaluation for me:

Female / 27
10th (CBSE): 87.4
12th (CBSE): 89.2 (Commerce + Maths)
Undergrad: University of Delhi, B.A (Hons.) English ~6.8 CGPA
Work experience: Over 7 years (and counting) of corporate experience in the Learning Consulting domain, with over 4 years in one of the Big 4s
Post MBA goal: Within Learning Consulting or related domain to leverage current experience

I have designed a range of learning assets for some of the leading industry giants. I have experience across transformation projects, change management, AI-adoption initiatives, government clients etc.
The clients I’ve worked with span across industries such as automotive, shipping and logistics, mining, accounting, entertainment etc.
I’ve also got significant experience in leading teams, knowledge management and dissemination and training deployment and delivery.

Outside of work, I am a fitness entusiast (ex weight lifter), I've interned with NGOs to educate underpriviledged children in govt. schools. I've also lead the literary club for 2 years in Uni.

I’ve not yet appeared in GMAT, plan to do it next month or so. My target score is about 650-680. Currently somewhere in 500s in mocks.

Please let me know how the profile would look to an adm councillor and what areas to focus on in college application.

Thanks, appreciate all the help!

admitStreet Thanks so much for your detailed response, appreciate it a lot.
Based on my class average, a GPA between 6.7-7 was a good average GPA considering the class max score was ~7 GPA overall. The GPAs in Arts tend to be on the lower side genrally but I can do more research as to what the class average was across DU at that time.

Priot to working at the Big 4, I worked at one of the leading corporates in training and learning consulting right after college. I was there for 2.9 years; had 2 promotions and was a team lead when I left.
I have been with the Big 4 for about 4 years now and have had 1 promotion 1.5 years into the company which is fairly early compared my peers. Was among one of the youngest consultants in the team.
The reason behind the first switch was increase my clientele to a more varied geography. At my first company, I primarily worked with US and briefly Australia. Within the Big 4 circuit I was able to work with multiple teams across US, UK, Australia, Netherlands, Canada etc.
In terms of career trajectory, I'm slowly moving to a Learning designer role from a Training designer.

I'm still looking for some ways I can spruce up my post MBA goals but simply put having spent 7 years in the Learning consulting industry I now find it limiting if I just stick to the learning side of it. Including commercials, finance and a little but of marketing knowldge will help me get a holistic view of products that we build that I can then position better for clients.

I'd be happy to have some support on how I can better frame my post MBA goals.

Thank you so much all your help! :)

GradOcean thank you so much for your reply.

Re the point, "The main thing you should focus on now is developing clearer post-MBA career goals and a more structured long-term narrative." I'm looking for some ways I can better frame my post MBA goals, essentially, here is my motive behind pursuing MBA:

Hi,

I believe some of the more natural post-MBA roles aligned with your background would include Organizational Transformation Consulting, Human Capital Consulting, HR Transformation, and Strategy roles within EdTech or HRTech firms.

It may also help to connect with professionals who have transitioned from a similar Learning Consulting background into post-MBA consulting or strategy roles to better understand possible career trajectories.

All the Best!

Happy to connect if you’d like to discuss your profile in more detail.

Hello,
You have a strong profile: 7+ years with progressive roles (Big 4 + earlier firm), global client exposure, leadership, and domain depth in learning, change, and AI adoption. Extracurriculars (NGO teaching, literary club) add good color.

Key weaknesses to address: GMAT (mocks in 500s, target 625–645), arts GPA, and limited visible commercial/quant experience on your resume.

Actionable priorities:

1. GMAT: 12-week plan—3–4 weeks fundamentals, weekly full tests, focused drills. Aim for consistent 700+ practice scores to hit 650–680 on test day.
2. Build quant proof: short courses in accounting/analytics or product management (Wharton/Coursera), include grades on application.
3. Quantify impact on your resume: add % improvements, budgets, team sizes, stakeholder reach.
4. Post-MBA goals: be specific—roles like Senior Product Manager (Learning Tech) or Head of L&D Strategy; explain how MBA courses/clubs bridge gaps.
5. Recommenders: choose people who can quantify your leadership and cross-functional impact; a senior client is ideal.
