Perseverance,

Honestly, are you really waiting to hear from them? I mean, sure I'd like an admit but a a deferral is neither here nor there. Of course we should send in some quality additional material to strengthen our case but I think its wise to start looking at other options seriously. That's why I applied to other schools and I am happy that I have two interviews at really top schools. CBS would be great but it's not the end of the world. Ultimately, getting a high quality MBA from a great school is the goal, right? So why wait and agonise over CBS?

Does anyone receive the follow up call from adcom for follow up questions? Is that a bad sign? Are they asking the questions in the interview or different ones?

Smallwo,

are u in the same situation, officer called u for a second phone interview, but did not hear back for almost a week?

I didn't put all of my eggs in one basket. Of course I hedged my bets and applied to other schools and received a few interview invites as well. Am I waiting and agonizing over CBS? Not in the least bit. I'm letting the cards fall where they will. The whole bschool application process is so subjective and opaque, no one can really know what will happen.

That's the spirit! :) There is sometimes such nerves on this forum that I think we just need to hold hands and forge ahead, even if things don't go our way.

I got a voicemail from Columbia asking me to callback. Is this to get more info, ask me more questions to evaluate my candidacy? Because if they were to give me an offer, they could just say that in the voicemail. What do you think?

The intelligent thing would be to call them back instead of posting those questions here don't you think?

smusCOX2 that's really not necessary. This is a forum to support each other. Even if you think it's a stupid question, it's not stupid to the person asking it. You don't need to put them down.

Agreed. Some people who received request for followup calls may have to re-explain their motivations to do an MBA and their backup plans. So it may not just be just an acceptance call. No harm in being informed and soliciting advice before talking with people who hold power to make life-changing decisions.

Ignore him. He's a troll. I guess someone banned his other username "smusCOX" and he is back with a new name. If someone fails to do something about him, I will do something myself.

I got a call from them yesterday and they just asked me some questions about my post-graduation plans. So it could just be clarifying questions. I don't think they call for rejections so you're in the clear!

Oh, and I got my interview invite today!!

Hi All,

My application is under review but I still haven't heard anything from CBS. No Ding, No Interview. Anyone else in a similar position?

Mine went into review on Oct 20, so I feel like you should hear back any day now- but then again, there were people whose apps went into review on 10/19 who heard back weeks ago... but from what I read here: https://www.accepted.com/chat/transcript ... umbia.aspx , you can hear back 8-10 weeks after your app goes into review.

Good luck, I really hope you hear good news :)
