thanks everyone, still a long way to go, but def happy about this

congrats! welcome to pre-interview jitters. :)

i know its sad to me ive been in war and im nervous about being asked to articulate some goals and talk about myself where there is no wrong answer as long as i am confident, look the person in the eye, and answer honestly and coherently

but yet the nerves continue, here's to mba insanity

Apologies if this has been asked before.

Is it generally advisable to tackle the multiple question prompts in Essays 1 and 2 separately, or have people generally opted to write a seamless narrative that captures all of the main points? I actually prefer to respond to each prompt in a discreet essay - I find that this keeps my responses focused and articulate.

I wrote a narrative to answer all of the questions in one essay. My friend (Stern '11) recommended that approach.
I took a reference point to show my background and create a central theme then tied in how that inspired my short + long term goals and how stern's resources would help me (for me it was SCC and IMI)

I think breaking it up can work too but writing it all together could bring it together more as your story versus answering questions

Hey Everyone,

I've been stalking this forum for a few weeks now because I've been anxious to hear from Stern myself and I was getting nervous. I just got an acceptance at 5PM. Since this forum was so helpful for my I feel compelled to let everyone else who may be on the edge of their seats (like I was) know how long my answer took.

I interviewed on 12/21. 730 GMAT, 5 years work experience in finance, US resident. I received an e-mail right at 5PM telling me that my status had changed.

Best of luck to everyone else, I know the wait is brutal.

I waited 3 weeks (including the break).

NVM about the e-mail. It came at around 5:00 EST.

Couldn't be happier.

JUst want to find out if internationals (residents of India, China etc) are interviewed only in March. It seems all R1 and R2 interview candidates will be interviewed in March only.. Am I missing something? Does that also mean that except priority consideration for slots, there wont be much different between R1 & R2??

Narrative or otherwise, I feel my Essay 1 story will still be seamless. But I am not sure about essay2. Part (a) looks like asking for a list of what I have done to know about Stern (something that others ask in app anyway). Then I feel Part (b) and (c) can be answered together. I am thinking of writing a very much list kind of response to part a and then go for narrative in b & c. How does that sound???
