I think you may see some movement post 18th Jan. That's the deposit deadline for R1 admits, and based on the numbers, the school may invite more people to interview. Just a thought though

I was a round 1 applicant and I recently received a promotion. Would it be appropriate to update the adcom in a short email? Or would that seem pushy?

I remember the Adcom team said you won't hear from them until the decision date (I know, far!), unless you've been invited to interview, etc.
