ahhh the wait is killing me! anyone have tips for how to distract myself?

Chewing my way through some books right now. Just finished "Why We Buy?" (very bad IMHO) and now on to "Predictably Irrational", which has been much better. My goal is to get through at least 3 more books - one each about finance, economics/stats, and technology - before school starts. If anyone has any suggestions let me know! I prefer story-based business anecdotes a la "Outliers", "Innovator's Dilemma", "The Soul of a New Machine", etc.

My personal favorite for 'story-based business anecdotes' is The Goal by Goldratt - in which he explains the Theory of Constraints (operations). I don't read many books, but it is probably one of the best business books I've read, particularly because its an easy read.

[edit: the second thread does not talk highly of my choice. I think I should read more books :) ]

Why not try a book by a Tuck prof? Ron Adner's "The Wide Lens" is a very good read/listen

I've been so nervous about my Ross and Fuqua interviews that I've practically forgotten about my Tuck application. My (self-initiated) interview back in October wasn't the greatest by all means but who knows...

It's amazing to me that Tuck seems to prompt such a visceral reaction like this for some people, myself included. Let's hope that came across in our interviews and let those of us who drank the kool aid hard get in. As for me, I'm on the older side and it's now or never time. So here's to letting it be now.

I hope adcom calls domestic applicants on Thursday this time. I have a bunch of long meetings on Friday, and will not available to take calls. Plus, I don't want to look distracted in the meetings also.

I hope adcom calls domestic applicants on Thursday this time. I have a bunch of long meetings on Friday, and will not available to take calls. Plus, I don't want to look distracted in the meetings also.

From personal experience, I can say that calls to domestic students on Thursday do happen (at least they did in the EA round), though they seem to be few and far between.

Good luck everyone and remember to just breathe if you get the call from the 603 area code (i forgot that small piece of advice, but luckily for me, they don't renege the offer if you sound like a blubbering idiot!)...

With self initiated interviews, you have of course a larger number of people that are denied. Same with Kellogg. 2 days left (or 1)). Good luck to everybody btw!

I was fortunate enough to get a call on Thursday during EA, but there were many who got the call on Friday as well. I think it is a completely random process, so if you don't get a call tomorrow keep your hopes up. Goodluck!

I was just thinking that adcoms probably fight over who gets to make the admit calls. It would have to be one of the most entertaining and fun things to do ever. People will blabber all over themselves and generally act like a giant mess from all the excitement. It would be great.

It's already 8pm here in my city. I hope by this time tomorrow I'll be having a celebratory beer!!
