Hi. Congrats on your admits!

R3 is wide open for some programs - Kellogg is even waiving the GMAT requirements and LBS is doing that as well. Marshall has waived the GMAT requirement for R3 and moved the deadline to May 1st.

If you are considering re-applying, your BEST opportunity is now while there is a fog of war hanging around business schools and applicants. You have 2 weeks!

I understand how you feel about trading off scholarship for higher ranked programs. I would make that decision ASAP. Reapplying next season is a gamble. I don't know which way it will go but likely you stand to lose some due to all the factors you brought up - work gap, age getting up there, and having to wait a whole year. I feel your goals will be manageable for recruiting at UNC and while you would have more options at Booth, Booth is VERY hard to get into, esp with $$$. Let's say you would get into Ross or Fuqua next year without any money. Would you take it?

I would say either accept the UNC offer or reapply for R3 but I can't see a benefit of waiting for next season really.

Thank you for your inputs! I'm going to hold off on applying for R3. I'm fairly confident of getting an admit at higher ranked programs in R3 (I don't meant to sound arrogant or immodest). I know that as an international student who can start school on my current visa, it plays well to the adcoms. But scholarship will be tough/ impossible to come by. Like you said, my recruitment goals are manageable at UNC so I'm hoping to go with that!
Thanks! I guess I just needed some validation on whether I was making the right decision!
Is there any data on the number of candidates who've made it in R3 with a sizeable scholarship albeit without any big guns on their resume or profile?

This year's R3 is nothing like before. Schools are trying to plug in gaps and holes in their ranks since some international students will not make it and some of them have had scholarships attached to those admits, so I would expect more money available for R3. People have been reporting getting admitted off WL in R3 and getting 100,000 scholarships.... https://gmatclub.com/forum/wharton-wait ... l#p2484144 that's one example I found but there are others from Top programs too....
