USAGE OF ''THESE'' AND ''THEM''

Question

This, that, these, and those can be used as adjectives in front of nouns:

1. New “NANO-PAPERS” incorporate fibers that give these
materials strength. (OK)

2. Her PRODUCTS are unusual; many consider these unique. (Wrong)
2. Her PRODUCTS are unusual; many consider them unique. (Right)

Aren't the pronouns referring to the same pot? in the case 1 and case 2, How is usage of 'these' is correct in the first but wrong in the second?

Jayadeepan , I dont recollect any official question for which it is necessary to understand when to use them vs these vs those. Have you seen many (or any) such official SC questions? If not, then the issue is not relevant for the GMAT. Both the pronouns ie, 'these' and 'them' are appropriate in usage here.

'These' is used incorrectly in a sentence when it is used to point to singular thing. 'These' should point to plural thing.
