MGMAT guides/Jeff Sach'

Question

Hey All,

Need some tips again.

I have completed all 5 guides of MGMAT quant. I will start the OG in a week's time, CAT etc. What would be my takeaway if I want to invest in Jeff Sach's Extreme Challenge or Total Maths? Will those be worth my time after especially completing MGMAT guides? Will this approach hone my strategies of Quant? Precisely I need an overview of Jeff Sach' books to understand which areas they specialize into - basics or strategies or advanced. Or Kaplan if advisable please share insights (I have already read the course reviews) - but slight more precision will help me - as these are investments big enough for me at this juncture.

Hi SDas,

Have travered along similar path you are traversing. Jeff Advanced material would be useful to you only if you have less than 85% accuracy in OG 12.

If you have higher accuracy skip all these and try 2 things
- GMAT Club Tests
- MGMAT Advanced Quant.

IMO mgmat 5 quant books do take good care of the fundamentals as well as 600-700 level questions, so if you have finished them, you may take a CAT to gauge ur level
mgmat Advance quant and gmatclub 25 quant tests are what i am doing , so i would highly recommend them...But if money is not a problem for you, investing in jeff sackmann's challenge sets ( 1800 questions in sets with 800 basic level questions and 1000 advanced level) is worth the value.
There are only three material that do have 700 + level questions
1) gmatclub 25 quant tests
2) Questions by Bunnel ( they are pure gold, check out his signatures)
3) Jeff Sackmann sets ( i have the extreme challenge 100 questions and these questions are actually difficult )

Thanks folks. sure money is a constraint. i should then revisit jeff sach later (after i save). you both are preparing i believe. just an off track question, are you both referring error logs? if yes, can you guys pls explain me the way to use it!!!!!i am lost in that area.

IMO two ways, once you are done with a practice set and while reviewing, you write the questions you guessed and questions you have done incorrect with reference( type of mistake) for e.g OG 12 SC 12( pronoun error) review ur error log on weekends. other way is to use an error log( highly recommended), and review it every weekends...I am using this apch....

I am not using error log per se, not much organised. I tend to revisit the problems I missed: just tick the problems you missed in books/flag questions used on webs based platforms/copy questions in the word document. For quant, I think it would be useful to follow the following method for analysing the errors(which steps you made the error) UNDERSTAND PLAN SOLVE REVIEW.
