Been looking for a consultant and have done a couple consultations, but had some questions before I committed to anyone or made any decisions.
I have read reviews of consultants on the forum, but so many of them are just way too positive to take seriously. Do consultants give discounts or extra services or anything for writing a review? Seems like there would be more motivation behind a lot of these as they just don't seem right .
Do consultants give discounts later in the application season? I am splitting my apps between R1 and R2, but if I hired one now I would do it for a R2 app so I can take advantage of it longer. Would I save significant money by waiting until after R1 is over? Seems like if its the same price throughout the whole app season that signing up earlier is a much better value, relatively of course, as the prices these people charge are insane and hard to justify.
I agree, some reviews are waaay too positive. I wouldn't trust much you read on the internet.
Right now, there is only 1 consultant I would use(maybe 2... but the 2nd one is a bit different), if I end up using one. IMO, the best way to choose is to read their blogs, see if your personalities mesh. Make sure you'll trust their opinions, and they'll understand your outlook.
Consultants seems to always be running a special of some sort. They'll always have something like "early bird special", "you came to my webinar special", "so you think you can dance special"... there are always 10% discounts.
