My obvious concern with your background is your undergraduate record and while you do have a lot of factors that mitigate its overall impact, I fear that there are just too many issues that it can impact your chances at most top 20 programs. The good news is that your GMAT scores are excellent and somewhat mitigate the impact of your grades. The other good news is that you have time to really lessen the impact of your grades -- by taking some classes and doing really well at them. You can take classes on-line or in-person, but make sure that they are challenging (stats, calc, accounting) and you do extremely well on them (A or A-). If you can get two or three classes under your belt by the time you apply, then I see no reason why you would not be an excellent candidate to those schools that have a history of being sympathetic to candidates who have turned their profiles around: Wharton, Booth, Johnson, Anderson, Ross, Fuqua and Marshall.

Good luck.

Firstly,

Let me convey a sincere thanks to all of you for your input, its greatly appreciated. I figured I would be a hit or miss candidate at the top 20, so I will prepare my application diligently and hope for the best. Kimberly, I did want to ask you if you had seen that I have an alternate transcript of 5 classes of a quantative nature all with As? I saw you mentioned taking some math based classes and wasnt sure if you were saying I should take more or if you hadnt seen my mentioning my alternate transcript. Any advice on whether taking any more would be of any extra help in mitigating my undergraduate performance would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I wanted to ask for your opinion on a much more subjective topic. I want to put out a few applications to schools where I think I would have a better chance of being offered scholarship dollars as money could turn out to be an issue for me. In your opinion would I be competitive for scholarships at places like Tulane and SMU? Again, any pointers would be much appreciated.
