what is considered more important a brand name that you work for or the kind of work done, even if it means working for a smaller mnc?

Definitely, the kind of work you do matters the most. Brand name can add more weightage to your profile if you have done the quality of work from the same company. So, i would suggest you to go for quality of work rather than going for a brand name.

The brand name of the firm surely adds value to your profile. But your role in the organization is something which is of more relevance. So even if you are in a smaller MNC and are into a good role then that will have more weightage.
