Hi,
First off, congrats for getting so close to Marshall and Vanderbilt. Both of these are great quality programs, and I hope you are able to make it through.
Some considerations:
1. Is your score lower than expected for someone with your background (combination of national origin + educational and professional background - say Indian Male Software Engineer or American Male Consultant/Banker)? If yes, then definitely see if you can improve upon your score.
2. Is it possible that you've not been able to communicate your value add effectively, say your contributions at work, leadership, intellectual abilities, etc? Then you may want to work on that and provide additional written materials (either as additional essays or as additional LORs).
3. Keep in touch - not too frequently, but don't disappear completely either. Often, another thing that happens is that they would have gaps at the end, and they may not have someone who is in a ready position to take up their offer. So at that point, they would make the offer to someone eager, accessible, and ready to take up the offer.
That should do it. Hope you are able to convert.
Best,
Karthik

Hello, I have been waitlisted at USC Marshall and Vanderbilt MBA programs. I really don't know how to proceed and what to do to maximize chances of an admit. Can someone who has been in this position and managed to get an admit suggest what to do? And how did you do it?
