Hi,
As the title suggests, I've pretty much messed up my undergrad with internet / gaming addiction and cannot offer any excuses. I've studied in a good institute in India (Dhirubhai Ambani Inst.) with a GPA of 2.2 / 4 with a reasonable share of Cs and Ds. (A B in Calculus and D in statistics)
I have managed reasonable - good GRE scores (1350/1600) and I've finished my Master's in Computer science with a GPA of 3.5.
I'm 23 now and I've just landed my first job in a firm called NCR (National cash register) in Orlando and would like to know how best I can prepare during the next 3-4 years for an admit into one of the top 20 schools. I'm pretty confident about managing a good score on the GMAT but I'm not sure if that'll be enough.

You will need to ace the GMAT (must be in the 700s, the higher the better). I also recommend building an "alternative transcript" so you have strong grades in any quant type courses, especially pre-MBA ones like calculus, statistics, etc. Aside from that you need to establish a track record of leadership at and outside of work. So try to build evidence of a 'fast track' career path at NCR and outside of work do something really big and distinctive where your leadership is highlighted. Think outside the box. Don't try to imitate other MBA applicants.

Would it be possible to project the grades that I have in my Masters course as some form of improvement? Or will the B-schools be interested only in the undergrad transcripts? Other than statistics and calculus, what other courses carry a higher priority on my transcript?
I will definitely try to look into other areas where leadership can be demonstrated. Will it be worth it to move to a company with a better "brand name" like Microsoft? Or maybe into one of the Investment banks in NY in a Business/Financial analyst role?
