A is wrong as the sentence. The usage of "as they do Oliver Twist" is unclear. Does the sentence imply that the movies and books are based on Oliver Twist or does it mean that the movies and books are based on Scrooge as they are done in liver Twist. Hence, this is wrong
B The usage of "being" is awkward. I would have preferred "and have been" or "and are well know for having been" even though it would suggest that both the characters have been re imagined in the movie Scrooged.
C is correctly frames and conveys the idea that Scrooged had been re imagined in the 1988 movie which we know to be a fact.
D uses and but both parts on either side of and lack parallelism.
E uses "the same as Oliver twist" which is not preferred as it makes the subject of what is same as Oliver Twist unclear. The usage of "character's" is also wrong. "Characters" is the plural form which is the intended usage here.
