(E) Most skilled artists are famous

my issue with this is the stem implies this already, so its not an assumption

You mentioned this can be solved by Venn Diagram as well. Can you also elaborate on this method to solve this CR question?

Thank you

My problem with E is that the answer says "MOST skilled artists are famous" but the explanation says (which I agree with) "at least". At least is no where near to Most... though it could be

Cognitive psychologist: The majority of skilled artists are very creative people, and all people who are very creative are also good at abstract reasoning. However, not all skilled artists are famous. It follows that some people who are good at abstract reasoning are famous.
The cognitive psychologist’s conclusion follows logically if which one of the following is assumed?
(A) Most skilled artists are good at abstract reasoning.
(B) Most people who are very creative are skilled artists.
(C) Some skilled artists are not famous.
(D) All people who are good at abstract reasoning are very creative.
(E) Most skilled artists are famous.
Hi,
lets give Alphabets to each, although this can be done best with venn diag, circles for each type..
The majority of skilled artists(A) are very creative people(C), and all people who are very creative are also good at abstract reasoning(R). However, not all skilled artists(A) are famous(F. It follows that some people who are good at abstract reasoning are famous.
four set of people..
1) skilled artists(A)
2)very creative people(C)
3)abstract reasoning(R)
4) famous(F)..
lets take each statement of stem one by one..
1)The majority of skilled artists(A) are very creative people(C),..
2) all people who are very creative are also good at abstract reasoning(R)..
here from 1) we can say The majority of skilled artists(A) are also good at abstract reasoning(R)..
3) not all skilled artists(A) are famous(F)...
this is not linked with C and R , as of now..
and , finaal conclusion
4)some people who are good at abstract reasoning(R) are famous(F).
some R are F.... again not connected with others..
lets check choices if any connects these
(A) Most skilled artists are good at abstract reasoning.
this is already known as per 2) above... not helpful to connect to 4)
(B) Most people who are very creative are skilled artists.
This gives reverse relation as in 1)..not helpful to connect to 4)
(C) Some skilled artists are not famous.
some skilled does not say anything about what % are famous, if any and thus connect to 4)..not helpful to connect to 4)..
(D) All people who are good at abstract reasoning are very creative.
Reverse of 2).. not helpful to connect to 4)
(E) Most skilled artists are famous..
since it uses most and majority of them are C, this means atleast some C are famous..
but all C are R, so atleast few R are famous..
this is what 4) states.. so suff..
E
